Have serious fun learning guitar
Good news – if you’re looking for guitar lessons around the Ashdown Forest / East Grinstead area, you’ve come to the right site!
I’m Andy Evans. I teach acoustic and electric guitar from my dedicated music room in Forest Row, covering all the major styles. In other words, rock, jazz, folk, blues, classical and anything in between. I’ve been playing for decades – literally – and teaching for almost as long. I have an honours degree in music and a background in commercial training, which means that I can adapt and design an approach that’s tailored specifically to your needs.
I’m a member of the Registry of Guitar Tutors (patrons include Paul McCartney, David Gilmour, Hank Marvin, Ronnie Wood, Gordon Giltrap, John Etheridge and others.) Among the many other benefits to students, this means that I can offer exam grades covering electric and acoustic guitar styles as well as classical.
I’m also proud to be registered with D’Addario’s music education hub, The Lesson Room. This offers many online lessons as well as an international registry of teachers.
I believe that learning guitar should be fun. It should also be serious. I’ll each you the songs, riffs, licks and solos that you want to learn. And I’ll show you how to develop your skills, abilities and potential.
I work with children and adults, and if you prefer to learn in a group setting I can arrange that too. The main areas my students come from include: East Grinstead, Forest Row, Ashurst Wood, Hartfield and Nutley.

My 12 year old son has been learning guitar with Andy for over a year and he can’t come more highly recommended as a fabulous teacher. His friendly supportive approach makes learning fun and gets you places if that’s where you want to go.
